Security is a huge concern in all companies, and ensuring that companies are protected should always be a number one priority. Management should definitely be involved in this process, but it could be a real benefit to provide your middle and line employees with security training also.

To Protect Assets and Data
Of course, the top reason for including all staff in security awareness training is to protect assets and data. More and more information is utilized and stored online, and the more employees who are involved in protecting this, the better it will be for the business. Human error is a predominant reason for lost data, and training in methods to deter this can save a company huge sums of money and massive amounts of time.

To Raise Awareness
Many employees do not realize just how dangerous human error can be to an establishment. A simple matter of forgetting to log off a computer or allowing an unauthorized person to use a password can result in a severe data breach. Making employees aware of what to watch out for, and giving them the steps to take when there is an issue will help safeguard all of your company's data.

To Gain Trust
Employers offer security awareness training to gain the trust of their employees. Personnel will feel like you really believe in them and their efforts to keep the company safe. This will result in better relationships and interactions between all staff.

To Gain Loyalty
An individual who believes that their employer has so much faith in them as to provide this type of training will feel like an integral part of the business. They will tend to work there on a much more long-term basis and speak more highly of the entity as a whole. They will take their work and the security of their work much more seriously and be vigilant in protecting company data.

As you can see, all staff should be involved in protecting your company and its reputation. Just as it "takes a village to raise a child," the security process needs a team of dedicated and aware employees to maintain the security and safety of all aspects of a growing and productive business. Being "in the know" will help all staff deter any breaches or threats to the data and assets of the establishment they work for.
