A day for Women in Minnesota. August 12, 2006 will be a day to 'Entertain and Inspire' for women in Minnesota and South Dakota. The first annual Minnesota Women’s Small Business Expo and Sale will take place at the Becker Community Center in Becker, Minnesota.
There will be close to 70 showcased businesses owned by women from Minnesota and South Dakota. These businesses will offer information, samples, business opportunities and items for sale.
This event will also offer a host of free workshops, free entertainment, free entrance, cooking demonstrations and children’s story hours throughout the day. There will be a host of door prizes and a free raffle offering many prizes donated from the showcased businesses.
The Expo has been extremely lucky in acquiring many sponsors. Our sponsors are all women who own their own businesses and want to contribute to the advertising of this event. This has been an invaluable asset to the organizers of this event, Heather Piehl and Stephanie LeMire.
The event’s sponsors include; Chris Anne Johnson, CD, Heather Renee Le-Bail, CEO of Family Village, In, Lori Strle-Lepisto, Owner of Rustic Retreat, Nichi Hirsch-Kuechle, Owner of Healthy Beginnings, Julie Miller, Owner ofNursing Notions, and Barb Waters, Representative for Undercoverwear and Bedroom Magic.
Free entertainment will be provided by Veronica Foxe of Minneapolis at noon on the showcase floor. Veronica will showcase her talents as a jazz and blues singer. Organizers are also working on a possible second entertainer for the late afternoon. Announcements will be made about this on the Expo’s website as soon as details are available.
Cooking demonstrations will go on throughout the day featuring the cookbook by Sheila Rae. Sheila is on a mission to get families back together at the dinner table. Sheila’s representatives will also feature cookware by Demarle.
Free workshops will be offered throughout the day on business, relaxation and children’s literacy topics. You can pre-register for all workshops at the Expo’s website. Although pre-registration is not required, it is encouraged.
This event is sure to be a wonderful day for all showcased business and their guests. The hours of the expo will be from 9am-4pm at the Becker Community Center 11500 Sherburne Avenue Becker, Mn.
