Idea Café, a top online small business center, announces its latest
Idea Café Small Business Grant for business entrepreneurs. The winner
will receive a check for $1,000 and recognition on IdeaCafe.com, viewed
by 100,000 unique visitors per month.
Applicants must be an established small business or a start-up ready to
get going. A full description of the grant can be found at http://www.ideacafe.com.
Explains Francie Ward, CEO of Idea Cafe, “We believe in helping
deserving entrepreneurs who might need that one big break to start
realizing their potential. Our current grant is called the Ray Ward
Creative Spirit Grant, dedicated to the memory of my late husband, who
was fearlessly creative.”
The last Idea Cafe Small Business Grant was awarded in July to Percy
Marchand of Marchand Inks, a print shop still emerging from the
floodwaters in New Orleans. Over 1700 applications were received for
this last round. The 225 finalists showed entrepreneurial spirit and a
strong determination to succeed.
This week, Idea Cafe is also celebrating its 11th anniversary in
business. Unlike many of its high-profile competitors who managed to
burn through hundreds of millions of VC dollars and still implode, Idea
Cafe has not only survived but continues to thrive.
Idea Cafe is a genuine small business ... like its audience. The site
features hundreds of useful resources for small entrepreneurs, from
sample business plans to online peer advice forums and a free small
business grant directory. Users agree that Idea Cafe is "The Fun Place
for Serious Business"(sm).
