The Commission for Economic Development in Orem (CEDO) today recognized
three current success stories among its Small Business Incubator
clients. Home View Technologies, ImSAR, and Ad Hoc Electronics are
among successful companies that have achieved greater success using
CEDO expertise and resources. Each of these start-ups has achieved
significant and rapid traction in their industry and has demonstrated
solid planning and management practices to secure long term success.
Each aspires to success enjoyed by distinguished Incubator graduates of
note including PowerQuest, 1-800-CONTACTS, K-TEC, and Granny B's
Cookies.
"Orem has repeatedly proven itself as a great growth environment for
small businesses," stated Brad Whittaker, executive director of CEDO.
"These three rising stars have fully leveraged the incubator services
and mentoring that assists small businesses in gaining the traction
necessary to grow and create jobs."
Home View Technologies, Inc. places Internet accessible pan, tilt and
zoom (PTZ) cameras on construction sites, both commercial and
residential, to facilitate project management and reduce theft. The
cameras and flood lights are motion activated so that anyone coming
onto the site will have their picture taken and archived.
Home View cameras have already stopped several attempted thefts. One
construction contractor client reported that they had lost a
significant number of tools to theft on a Saturday night. On Monday,
Home View Technologies went into its video archives and found a little
red pickup on site Saturday at 10:30 p.m. loading up. The owner knew it
was a sub-contractor and took it from there.
The police chief of Mountain Green, Utah told one contractor protected
by Home View cameras that after installation reported thefts in that
subdivision stopped overnight. You can log on and demo a camera at www.homeviewtech.com.
ImSAR LLC (www.imsar.com),
located in Salem, Utah, combines the ability to mass produce integrated
high-frequency RF (radio frequency) designs with Synthetic Aperture
Radar (SAR) processing knowledge. ImSAR is demonstrating innovative
leadership in the development of lightweight SAR for military and
commercial applications.
The company recently announced an important partnership with Insitu
(Bingen, WA), a pioneer developer of long-range, unmanned, autonomous
aircraft. The two companies have completed prototype development of the
world's smallest SAR: the one-pound NanoSAR. This miniature SAR
technology has great potential for military and industry for
applications such as all-weather reconnaissance, geolocation and
situational awareness.
Ad Hoc Electronics (www.AdHocElectronics.com)
is a system integrator and distributor of wireless data transmission
products, providing companies with the products and expertise they need
to add wireless capability to their own systems and devices. The
company integrates and distributes industry-leading products from
companies such as EnOcean and Motorola to provide OEMs with turnkey
wireless solutions for applications in sensor, controls and networking
markets.
The company recently partnered with EnOcean to develop a wireless
lighting control system for use in log homes and other hard to wire
projects.
