General Dynamics Wins Veterans Affairs Corporate Champion Award

July 20, 2006; 07:44 AM

General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been chosen by the Department of Veterans Affairs to receive the Corporate Champion Award from the Veteran Affairs Center for Veteran Enterprise. This award recognizes significant contributions by an organization dedicated to expanding business opportunities for veterans and service-connected disabled veterans. The award was extended in the name of Anteon, which was acquired by General Dynamics in June 2006.

"General Dynamics Information Technology is proud to be recognized as a veteran business champion and receive this prestigious award for the second year in a row. In 2004, we were honored as the first federal prime contractor to exceed industry procurement goals for working with service-connected disabled veterans," said Dan Johnson, executive vice president at General Dynamics Information Technology. "We are deeply committed to advancing the government IT industry through a variety of business partnerships and mentoring programs."

The Center for Veteran Enterprise promotes business ownership and expansion for veterans. Additionally it provides resource assistance for veterans and service-disabled veterans who are considering starting or expanding a business. Its staff works with all federal agencies, large contractors and a series of not-for-profit assistance organizations to promote the development of veteran-owned small businesses.
