North Carolina Small Business Person of the Year to Speak at RWHRMA Small Business Conference

Raleigh, NC - Terry Bradley, president of the Raleigh-Wake Human Resource Management Association (RWHRMA), a non-profit human resources professional association and local affiliate of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), has announced that Sepi Asefnia, president of SEPI Engineering Group and the Small Business Administration’s North Carolina Small Business Person of the Year, will be the keynote speaker for the RWHRMA Small Business Conference on Tuesday, August 22 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the McKimmon Conference and Training Center at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Conference attendees will learn techniques to improve their hiring efforts as well as increase their understanding of benefits, EEOC policies, safety, and payroll. About Sepi Asefnia
A licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Sepi S. Asefnia is founder and president of SEPI Engineering Group, which provides transportation engineering and planning services to private and public sector clients across the southeast. Asefnia serves on the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is a member of the Cary Chamber of Commerce, the Cardinal Club, and the Regional Transportation Alliance. Asefina maintains memberships in national organizations such as the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), and the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO). Asefina has been featured in national publications such as Entrepreneur Magazine and many local magazines and newspapers. Among her awards are the North Carolina WTS Chapter “Employer of the Year” award and the YWCA 2004 Academy of Women Award in Science & Technology. In 2004, she was recognized by the Triangle Business Journal as among the “Top 25 Women Business Owners in the Triangle.” Asefnia was named 2006 North Carolina Small Business Person of the Year by the United States Small Business Administration (SBA), and represented North Carolina at National Small Business Week in Washington, D.C.
