Melanie Benson Strick is no stranger to the challenges facing most
entrepreneurs. After all, the California-based entrepreneur success
coach has been in business for herself for almost a decade. So when
technology problems started slowing her down, she dug into her own box
of coaching tricks.
“My cell phone wasn’t working properly. I had bought a new computer and
half my files were on one computer and half on the other. Then things
started to happen with my emails and my DSL company was not as reliable
as they needed to be,” Strick said. “The technology challenges were
getting me behind in other things because I’d be sitting on the phone
for two hours trying to get something working.”
Instead of limping along at half-speed, Strick put her normal work aside and concentrated on remedying the problems.
“I did nothing but just work on getting caught up on all my projects,”
Strick said. “I didn’t answer the phone, I didn’t look at my email, and
by at the end of the day, my headache was gone and I felt like finally
I was getting some momentum again.”
Based on her own success and that of several recent clients, Strick
created a campaign to offer that same technique to entrepreneurs and
small business owners around the country. The National Clean Sweep
Challenge Day is a one-day clutter clearing blitz that Strick says will
leave entrepreneurs with larger reserves of time and energy with which
to pursue success in their businesses and their lives.
The Challenge is online at www.CleanSweepChallenge.com.
It’s free for everyone and includes a toolkit and support emails as
well as a community website where participants can post their
intentions and “wins” on the day of the challenge. Strick has recruited
sponsors to supply gifts to the entrepreneurs who post winning success
stories including: SPONSOR LIST.
“That powerful energy happens after you finally start getting some of
those energy-draining things, like clutter and unfinished projects,
handled. Even if you just get a few things done, you feel a huge
psychological benefit,” Strick said. “You just feel so free.”
