WASHINGTON - The Securities
and Exchange Commission on Thursday announced that its annual
small-business capital formation forum will be held on Sept. 29 at 9
a.m. EDT at its Washington, D.C., headquarters.
The SEC said that its forum will include discussions on the use of
"interactive data" by small businesses. SEC Chairman Christopher Cox
has been pushing public companies to make greater use of "interactive
data" technology, which makes financial data in corporate filings easy
to download and analyze.
Two roundtable discussions on interactive data and capital formation will be held in the morning and broadcast on the SEC's Web site at www.sec.gov. The afternoon session will consist of discussions among various groups, where participants will be asked for recommendations to improve the ability of small businesses to raise money.
