10stepmarketing has announced a series of unlikely small business
marketing success stories will be featured on its free, weekly
“Marketing Success Podcast” in October.
10stepmarketing founder Debbie LaChusa interviews Internet entrepreneur
and work-at-home mom, Sheri McConnell who founded the National
Association of Women Writers and recently launched the Association of
Web Entrepreneurs; Jared Bauman, a twenty-something wedding
photographer with a booming business; Wayne Kelly, a Canadian radio DJ
and founder of On-Air Publicity, a business that teaches ordinary
people how to get on the radio; and Dallas Woodburn, a 19-year-old
college student who wrote, published and had her first book reviewed in
the Los Angeles Times at the tender age of 10.
Podcast interviews are posted every Friday at http://www.10stepPodcast.com and are also available on iTunes.
The month kicks off with an interview with Sheri McConnell, the founder
of the National Association of Women Writers (NAWW) and the Association
of Web Entrepreneurs. McConnell, a busy work-at-home mom with four
children under the age of 11, shares the challenges she has faced as a
work-at-home mom and how she overcame them to build the successful NAWW
network into an association with over 3000 members worldwide, and to
launch her newest venture, the Association of Web Entrepreneurs.
On October 13, LaChusa interviews Jared Bauman, a 23-year-old wedding
photographer who turned his passion and part-time photography business
into a flourishing full-time business in only two years. A business
school graduate, Bauman quickly realized what he learned in business
school wouldn’t work for his small business. He shares how he had to
find creative ways to market on a small budget, and how he started
using “buzz marketing” to get free publicity and generate new clients.
The October 20 podcast takes a slightly different turn when LaChusa
interviews Wayne Kelly, a Canadian radio DJ who also runs his own
Internet-based business called On-Air Publicity. Kelly is the “Wayne”
half of the Wayne and Jayne show, a morning drive radio show on KBS
radio in British Columbia, Canada. Kelly shares stories from his
experience as a radio DJ that illustrate the do’s and don’ts of
successful radio interviews along with lessons he’s learned building
and marketing his own small business.
The month wraps up with an interview with college student, author and
non-profit entrepreneur, Dallas Woodburn on October 27. Woodburn’s
first book, “There’s A Huge Pimple On My Nose,” which she wrote when
she was only 10 years old was praised by the Los Angeles Times. Now a
19-year-old student at the University of Southern California, Woodburn
has published her second book, “3 a.m. A Collection of Short Stories,”
written a monthly “Teen Talk” column for Family Circle Magazine and is
the founder of Write On!, a non-profit organization that encourages
reading for children and has provided over 7,000 books to
underprivileged kids. Woodburn shares insights into how she has
accomplished so much at such a young age, along with wisdom beyond her
years.
“Marketing Success Podcast” interviews are posted every Friday on http://www.10stepPodcast.com
and on iTunes, and feature interviews with successful entrepreneurs as
well as marketing experts. 10stepmarketing founder Debbie LaChusa said
her goal is to create a small business marketing community where
entrepreneurs can be inspired, get real-world small business marketing
tips, learn how to create and implement their own marketing plan and
share marketing challenges and success stories.
