In its ongoing commitment to support diverse businesses and the
evolving demographics of its customer base, Realogy Corporation (NYSE:
H), one of the world’s largest real estate franchisors, sponsored the
27th Annual National Convention & Business Expo of the United
States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC). The USHCC, highly regarded
as an advocacy organization for the influential and growing Hispanic
business community, was held Sept. 20-23, in Philadelphia, Pa.
“We are proud to sponsor the USHCC once again,” said Richard A. Smith,
vice chairman and president of Realogy Corporation. “This is one in a
series of initiatives we plan to support that will reinforce our
commitment to serving our country’s multicultural marketplace and
diversifying our workforce.”
The buying power of the Hispanic community will grow to $923
billion by 2009, according to a University of Georgia study. Hispanic
Trends predicts that one out of every 10 small businesses will be
Hispanic-owned by the year 2007. The USHCC conference included a
special segment on franchising, which further underscored the
importance of recruiting minority-owned businesses into franchise
systems.
Hispanic companies represent the fastest-growing population of small
business owners, and Realogy is the parent company of some of the most
formidable real estate franchise systems in the world. The strong
combination made the Company’s participation in the Convention’s
franchise workshop particularly apt.
Realogy (www.realogy.com), a Gold Sponsor of the Convention and the only real estate
franchise company that served as a sponsor, provided financial support
and participated in events that endorsed the USHCC’s mission. Realogy
also donated registrations for three members of the Morris County
Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the USHCC affiliate in the New Jersey
county where Realogy is headquartered.
