The first-ever California Small Business Success Conference and Trade Show takes place Wednesday, May 2, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Pasadena Conference Center, 300 E. Green Street, Pasadena, CA. The multi-faceted educational conference and interactive trade show is expected to draw over 5,000 small business owners for the day-long event and will host a live broadcast on CBS affiliate KNX 1070, L.A.'s largest AM news station. The event is the first of its kind catering to small business owners with education, mentoring and networking. It is produced by California Small Business Success Conferences, Inc. (CSBSC).
The event kicks off with a Business Networking International (exclusive) breakfast at 7:00 a.m. featuring BNI Founder and Chairman Dr. Ivan Misner. Starting at 9:00 a.m., the education series opens providing forty-five different workshops for small business success in leadership, finance, technology, human resources, legal concerns, sales and marketing. Each attendee will receive hands-on solutions to immediately improve their business.
An interactive Trade Show will showcase the latest products: Microsoft will promote Vista 2007 Windows and other Office solutions; Verizon and Palm will demonstrate products to enhance organizational skills; Avery Dennison, Vista Print, Cingular/AT&T, STAPLES, Time Warner Cable, and Salesgenie.com will all offer exclusive deals to attendees. In addition to exhibiting, AFLAC will run workshops on employee benefits as a competitive advantage for recruiting and retaining employees in a tough labor market.
Attendees will be able to meet representatives from a variety of state agencies through a Business Assessment Clinic sponsored by Laughlin Associates. In addition to expert consultants to provide advice, also present will be representatives from the US Small Business Administration, the California Employment Development Department, State Compensation Insurance Fund, California Manufacturing Technology Center, Foothill Workforce Investment Board, Work Source Los Angeles and OSHA Advisors. As a catalyst to connect business owners with each other, BNI will run 'speed networking' sessions.
Setting the mood for conference attendees will be Harley Davidson, Budget Rent A Car, K-Earth 101 and KTWW-The Wave, for an exciting, information-packed day.
The May 2nd conference is the first in a series of California Small Business Success Conferences with the next events taking place October 3, 2007 in Long Beach, January 30, 2008 in Ontario, and March 25, 2008 in Santa Clara/San Jose.
To capture the skills and build on what is learned at the Success Conference, there will be five (5) bimonthly Success College sessions held after the conference. Each will consist of a half-day workshop covering everything from developing an action-oriented business plan to utilizing effective marketing programs to gain visibility.
Karen Butler, COO and Ken Keller, CSBSC CEO came up with the concept for the Success Conference and Trade Show after many years of working in the small business arena. Karen Butler states, "Ken and I realized that there is no 'one place' for small business owners to go to get all the answers they need to run a successful business. The Success Conference covers all the bases giving small business owners a comprehensive day of education with instant access to many of the resources they need. Where else can you go for $149.00 and get a whole day's worth of education and tools?"
Ken Keller adds, "Small businesses in California are the foundation of our state economy and to be successful in both the short term and over the long haul, business owners need ongoing support and education. The Success Conference addresses what a business owner needs for starting, growing and running a business. By enlisting the support of many organizations serving the small business market, we have been able to create a conference that a small business owner cannot afford to miss. We believe this is the most valuable event of the year for them."
California Small Business Success Conferences, Inc. (CSBSC) is located in Valencia, CA. Its mission is to educate, communicate and facilitate the success of small businesses in the State of California through educational conferences, exciting trade shows, the on-going Success College and a monthly e-Zine, "The California Small Business Owner."
