Gilford, NH, October 13, 2008 --(PR.com)--
Business owners. Lifestyle entrepreneurs. The ones with the fire in
their eyes and the passion in their bellies. These people need to get
their message, mission and vision "out there" to their Ideal Audience -
but how, without busting their limited budgets or wasting their
valuable time and energy?
“The key is to find innovative,
leveraged ways to turn your content into a multi-tasking machine," says
Lani Voivod, co-owner and "Content Lover" of Epiphanies, Inc., a
Dignity Marketing firm based in Laconia, NH. "With the Internet, there
are more ways than ever for you to do just that, cheaply and
effectively."
According to her husband and co-owner Allen
Voivod, the modern-day business owner has to focus on making
connections purposefully and organically, in order to stay relevant and
search-engine friendly. He recommends building a "Content Kingdom" -
thoughtful, audience-focused information shared over time. "Then, when
people are ready to take the next step, they'll take it with you
because they already know, like, and trust you based on the content
you've provided."
To build a Content Kingdom and make that
all-important, long-term connection, the Voivods advise starting with
the easiest ways to “A-Ha Yourself" - to put one's boldest insights
into joy-filled action - and work up from there.
Here are their top 10 recommendations:
1.
Write a personal email to a deserving recipient. Lani says, "If a
person or business makes an impression on you, let them know about it
with a quick, thoughtful email."
2. Comment on a blog or
website. "Let the blogger or site owner know you came, you read, and
you enjoyed the experience," Allen advises.
3. Blog. Design a
blog around the business, or the owner's passion or expertise. In the
best case scenario, these are the same things.
4. Write useful
articles. "Assist, inspire, answer, inform, educate, debunk, entertain
your target audience," Lani suggests. "Then send your article out to
ezine publishers, magazines, article directories, and more."
(Epiphanies, Inc. uses and recommends AhaArticles.com.)
5.
Submit a news release. If there's an upcoming event, new hire, seasonal
tips, a new product or service, or some other noteworthy occasion,
sanctify it with a press release to the local media, and with online
services like PR.com, PRWeb.com, or MarketWire.com.
6. Create a
social networking page for the business and/or its owners. "Seems like
there’s a new social networking website cropping up everyday," Lani
says. "But for now, just concentrate on the biggest and best, such as
LinkedIn, Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, and Twitter."
7. Teach
about topics related to the business or industry. Whether it’s a
speaking engagement, class, workshop, seminar, webinar, or teleclass,
get in front of an audience and let loose on the things people need and
want to know most.
8. Serialize knowledge. "Create a series
around a theme, process, set of steps, bag of tricks and tips, crazy
shtick, you name it," Allen says. "Don’t just stop at the written word,
either. Try out audio - we use and recommend AhaAudio.com - or have fun
directing a few YouTube videos."
9. Send out ezines,
newsletters, or autoresponders. "Build an opt-in list and start sending
them regular doses of user-friendly, info-rich content relevant to
their lives," says Lani. "Then repeat regularly." (Epiphanies, Inc.
uses and recommends AhaCart.com.)
10. Last but not least, get a
website. "Preferably a real website," Allen notes, "with a dedicated
domain, and matching email addresses. That means no you@gmail.com,
@hotmail.com, @yahoo.com, @aol.com, etc." (Epiphanies, Inc. uses and
recommends AhaWebHost.com.) "Make it easy to read, engaging, and make
each page its own relationship-building experience," Lani adds. "And
don’t forget one clear call to action on each page."
In this new
world of marketing, opportunity comes knocking from the strangest
places, on the most unlikely of doors. The more business owners
increase their visibility and active involvement on the Web, the more
they welcome new connections, customers, clients, and serendipitous
possibilities.
