Restrictions on Firing Employees in Montana

Montana laws make it unlawful for an employer to fire an employee in retaliation for reporting a violation by the employer; fire an employee for other than "good cause" after the employee has completed a probationary period; fire an employee in violation of the employer's own written personnel policies; require an employee or applicant to take a polygraph test; deny equal employment opportunity; or fire an employee for having wages withheld for child support or other garnishment.
