Restrictions on Firing Employees in Ohio

Ohio laws make it unlawful for an employer to not permit time off to vote; fire an employee for serving on jury duty; deny equal employment opportunity; retaliate against an employee for filing a workers' compensation claim, safety complaint, or wage complaint; violate protections for veterans or reservists; or fire an employee because of a court order to withhold child support payments from wages or because of garnishment by one creditor in a 12-month period.
