Restrictions on Firing Employees in Vermont

Vermont laws make it unlawful for an employer to: discriminate against employees who serve on jury duty; fire for union activity; deny equal employment opportunity; violate protections for veterans or reservists; or retaliate against an employee for filing a safety complaint or fair employment practices complaint, or wage complaint; require employees to take a polygraph test; or fire an employee for having wages withheld for child support or other garnishment.
