Restrictions on Firing Employees in Washington

Washington laws make it unlawful for an employer to discriminate against employees because of testimony under the minimum wage law; require an employee to take a polygraph test; deny equal employment opportunity; violate protections for veterans or reservists; retaliate against an employee for filing a wage complaint or fair employment practices complaint, or for exercising family leave rights; or fire an employee for having wages withheld for child support, or for less than three debts in a 12-month period.
