Restrictions on Firing Employees in Connecticut

Connecticut laws make it unlawful for an employer to fire an employee who receives a summons or serves on jury duty; fire an employee who exercises first amendment rights; fire an employee for reporting a violation of law or for taking part in an investigation or hearing; fire an employee for filing a claim for workers' compensation benefits; fire to discourage or encourage unionism; deny equal employment opportunity; violate protections for veterans or reservists; or fire an employee for having wages withheld for child support or other garnishment, or for using family or medical leave.
