Rhode Island Rules on Employing MinorsIn Rhode Island, the school committee of each town, or such person as the school committee may designate, may issue for any child who at least 14 years of age a permit to work. The permit may be limited based on the child's age. A minor's work permit may be revoked or suspended by the issuing school committee upon the recommendation of the principal of the school that the child attends to the school committee, that the issuance of the permit appears detrimental to the well-being of the student or detrimental to the academic success of the student. |
