Wage Statements in Maryland

In Maryland, for each pay period an employer must give each employee a statement of gross earnings and deductions.

Employers who pay employees using envelopes can not mark or enclose in the envelopes a political motto, device, or argument that contains express or implied threats intended to influence the political opinions or actions of their employees.

Effective January 1, 2007, employers may not print an employee's social security number on the employee's wage payment check, an attachment to an employee's wage payment check, a notice of direct deposit of an employee's wages, or notice of credit of an employee's wage to a debit card or card account.
