Which Payroll Taxes Apply?

Once you've determined that your workers are taxable employees, you may have obligations for the following payroll taxes:

• federal income tax
• state, and sometimes local, income taxes
• Social Security and Medicare (FICA) taxes
• federal and state unemployment taxes
• state disability insurance taxes
