Initial Fees and Licenses in Alaska

If you are a domestic corporation (organized in Alaska) or a foreign corporation (organized in a state other than Alaska including a limited liability company (LLC)), you are required to file articles of incorporation, an application for a certificate of authority, and any amendatory articles with the Department of Commerce and Economic Development. (This doesn't apply if you're a nonprofit corporation.) The filing fees are established by, and payable to, the Department of Commerce and Economic Development.

The fee for filing articles of organization for a domestic limited liability company (LLC) or limited liability partnership (LLP) is $250. The filing fee for registering a foreign LLC or LLP is $350.

Licenses and fees. Alaska requires that you obtain a license and pay a fee if you are operating virtually any type of businesses in the state. Be sure to check with the state to make sure you are complying with the license requirements for your particular profession. Business licenses normally cost $50 and expire biennially.
