If you're going to operate your business in Indiana you may incur some initial start up costs depending on what type of entity you operate your business as — for example, are you a corporation, a partnership or a sole proprietor? The following are some of the fees you can expect to pay in Indiana:

Type of Document to Be Filed Fee
corporation: articles of incorporation $90
foreign corporation: certificate of authority $90
limited liability company: articles of organization $90
foreign limited liability company: certificate of authority $90
domestic limited liability partnership: certificate of limited partnership $90
foreign limited liability partnership: application for registration $90

For many types of business, Indiana also requires that you obtain a license and pay a licensing fee based on the nature of your business. For this reason, we recommend that you check with the state to make sure you are complying with the licensing requirements, if there are any, for your particular business.
