Franchise Tax in Massachusetts

Corporations doing business in Massachusetts are required to file an annual report to the secretary of state. This report is due annually and requires a $125 fee ($150 if not filed timely). There is a similar fee of $500 for limited liability companies.

Massachusetts does not have any other income-based franchise tax on corporations. However, a corporation must pay income taxes. See income taxes on business income for descriptions and rules relating to corporate income tax.
