Franchise Tax in MissouriApril 13, 2006
If your corporation in Missouri is a qualified domestic corporation (a corporation organized in Missouri) or a foreign corporation (a corporation organized in a state other than Missouri), you are subject to the state franchise tax. Domestic corporations pay 0.033 percent of the par value (face value) of the outstanding shares and surplus (no par stock valued at $5 per share unless actual value exceeds $5 per share) if in excess of $200,000. Foreign corporations pay at the same rates as domestic corporations based upon their proportion of assets employed in Missouri. Domestic and foreign corporations, other than corporations exempt from tax, must also file an annual corporation registration report. File this report along with a $45 fee to the Missouri Secretary of State. |
