Franchise Tax in WisconsinApril 13, 2006
If your corporation in Wisconsin is a domestic corporation (a corporation organized in Wisconsin) or a foreign corporation (a corporation organized in a state other than Wisconsin), you must file an annual report with the Department of Financial Institutions. If you are a domestic corporation, the filing fee is $40 ($25 if you file electronically). If you are a foreign corporation, the annual filing fee is $80. A foreign corporation must also pay $2 for each $1,000 of excess capital which has not previously been paid. In Wisconsin the corporation income tax is sometimes referred to as the franchise tax. (See income taxes on business income for the details on the Wisconsin corporation income tax.) |
