Chapter 11 FilingsApril 13, 2006
Among the types of bankruptcy filings, in a sense, Chapter 11 is to business entities what Chapter 13 is to individual debtors. Chapter 11, or the business reorganization chapter, is used primarily by larger corporations that intend to continue operations after restructuring. A small business owner, or the business entity, is much more likely to be involved in a Chapter 7 proceeding or, in the case of the owner, a Chapter 13 proceeding. |
