One of the most exciting experiences for anyone entering the workforce is to get the call saying they've got the job. There's nothing like gainful employment and the feeling of a fresh, new start. But, what happens after the first few days? Accepting a new employee into the company is like accepting a new family member into the fold. In order for the new guy or girl to feel welcomed, it is important to make sure they're celebrated and treated like a part of the team. Additionally, it is vital for the company to create opportunities for organic connections between new and old employees. Acceptance is really important in any interpersonal setting. Once new employees know their presence, skills, and abilities are acknowledged, welcomed, appreciated, and celebrated, success is more likely to happen from within the company. Consider facilitating these fun events to allow new employees to connect.

Game Nights
While many people look at board games as entertaining for children, they are great ways to allow people to let their guards down and be their natural selves in a no pressure setting. There are very few people who don't like a few good rounds of Monopoly or Taboo. Charades, Uno, Checkers, or even a good round of pool can really allow people to relax, have fun, and really get to know one another. The home of the CEO, or a local clubhouse can be great places for this type of low-key event.

Company Brunch/Picnics
Any event with delicious food is sure to be a hit. Consider catering a company brunch or picnic with lots of entertainment and food. These types of events are great for allowing employees to mingle with one another and gives them an excuse to dress up a bit. Another great way to really get to know employees is by inviting their families. Encouraging employees to bring their close family and/or friends to a company event is really great to help spur conversation, make them feel more comfortable, and have an excuse for more introductions.

Perhaps host an event at Corporate Party Venues like the ones offered at Noahs Event Venues. You’ll get a private room with everything you need to set up like tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment which can be perfect for an impromptu movie night and potluck.

Icebreaker Sessions
Icebreaker sessions are incredibly beneficial for times when a company may be short on time or funds to do a bigger event, but still want to get the employees together. Icebreaker sessions can be done during office hours and incorporated into the schedule once or twice a month. It can also be done after work, but most times, people are ready to go home after a long day. There are lots of different ice breaker activities to do to get to know one another and find out different strengths, interests, and passions of the employees. Try a round of True or False, or Never Have I Ever to get people talking and socializing.

All of these events will inject a strong social life to the company which is important if you want employees to connect and build together. Be sure to take note during these different activities because seeing people in their natural element can be easily utilized to bring out the best work from the company.
