However, chances are you won't be the only small business texting them. That's why you need to make your business' texts stand out from the competition.

What are some of the ways you can do just that?

Here are seven text marketing tricks that will make your business stand out:

Know Your Audience

Knowing your audience is crucial if you want to stand out.

The better you know your audience, the better you can tailor your language and the content of your texts to be relevant to them.

Use your knowledge of your audience to split your SMS list into segments.

By segmenting your list (for example by age, location, or history with your business), you can further personalize your texts for each segment.

Speak on Their Level

Choose words that will resonate with your customers.

Give your customers a free gift, an exclusive offer, a discount or other incentive for signing up for your text messages and you'll stand out from the competition before you even start.
