If you have recently been left in charge of planning and setting up for an office party, whether it be for a birthday, retirement, or any other special event, you may find yourself feeling a bit lost as to where to begin. This may be especially true if you have never thrown an office party before. Fortunately, there are some simple tips that you can keep in mind to ensure that you get the party successfully planned without breaking too much of a sweat in the process.

Get a Head Count

In order to determine how much food and other party favors you will need, start with getting a good idea of how many people will be in attendance. If the party will happen during work hours, then it is easy to figure out how many people will be there. However, if you plan on holding the party before or after work, then you will want to get an RSVP from everybody at least a few weeks prior to the event so that you can get an estimate.

Order Enough Food

You will want to make sure that there are enough food and beverages for everybody in attendance and that there will be something for everybody to enjoy. Be sure to offer as wide of a variety of food as your budget allows. While ordering a bunch of pizzas may be cheaper, not everybody will want pizza. Be considerate and go with a catering company that can put together a diverse menu that will work within your budget. Keep in mind that many state laws prohibit the consumption of alcohol in workplaces.

Choose Quality Entertainment

While simple party games can be a fun way to keep people entertained, you may want to consider hiring a performer, such as a musician, or singer from sonicbids to keep your party guests entertained. Regardless of what your budget may be, you can find a performer close to home that can be a new and exciting experience for everyone.

When you follow these simple tips, you will be sure to put together an excellent office party in no time. Do not hesitate to recruit other employees to assist you with various aspects of the party planning as well. Getting together an event that everyone can enjoy is no easy feat. Every person is different and it can be difficult to find a way to please everyone.
