Everyone has to work, there is no doubt about that. And considering you are at work for eight hours a day, it only makes sense that your workplace should be somewhere that you can enjoy and feel comfortable in. However, many people fail to make their office feel good to them. Here are five ideas for making your office your own, which will hopefully make you enjoy your time more while at work.

Get A Good Chair And Desk

A desk and chair are possibly the most essential parts of the office. These two items can make a powerful statement in who you are, and how you conduct business. This doesn’t mean it has to be something traditional or something you don’t like, but instead make sure that the desk and chair you have is something you want to sit at, and that it also makes a statement. A Bell cordless phone will allow you to get up from your desk and still conduct business as needed, so find a phone program that will work for you.

Keep It Free Of Clutter

You are likely to have tons of paperwork and other clutter around your office that will get in your way if you don't keep up on organization. It is important that you do your best to organize all of this and keep things as neat and tidy as possible. Consider getting a bulletin board to post things, rather than leaving them on your desk. Get a filing cabinet for storage. And instead of having a ton of photos around, simply have a screensaver on your computer that shows off your favorite memories. By having less clutter in your office, you’ll feel more calm and relaxed while at work.

Have A Snack Station

Your work environment can be just as fun as it is professional. When you hit a lull in the day, it might be a good idea to consider having a snack or coffee station in your office. Bring in some delicious treats that coworkers can stop by and grab when they want to chat. Get unbeatable coffee that will save you time and money when you quit going through the drive thru in the morning, as well as giving you that energy boost in the afternoon. A snack station is a great way to give you energy when your feeling low, as well as make your office more welcoming.

Have Something Fun

If you have an office to yourself, then you need to have something in it that adds fun to the atmosphere. Maybe you want to get a medicine ball to do some yoga, or stretching in-between conference calls; or perhaps you want to work on your golf game with a miniature putter in your office. A TV is another great option, which you can find your favorite shows with a channel lineup on Bell.ca. Or best yet, maybe a dartboard will help you focus your energy on your work plan. Whatever it is, add some fun elements to your office to make it feel more like you.

Work can be as fun as any other element in your life. Just by adding a few finishing touches mentioned here, you can enjoy work in a whole new way and have an office that feels more like you.
