Aftermarket Accessories for Trucks

Trucks are big business in the U.S. And because it seems like almost everybody has a truck nowadays, the aftermarket business remains a strong business opportunity, especially for eager entrepreneurs. The old real estate adage of location, location, location is still important, especially for brick and mortar stores. But with much of the world jumping with both feet into online business, under certain circumstances, location is not as important as it used to be.

As far as the aftermarket for trucks is concerned, Tonneau Covers appear to very popular. For anyone who owns a truck, adding a Tonneau Cover is an absolute must. Not only are tonneaus useful in various situations, they also provide many other advantages, such as:

Organized storage for tools and supplies, along with stabilizing loose items.

Protection from inclement weather, such as rain, sun and snow.

Protection from theft.

Enhancing the overall look of your truck by adding a finished, smooth line to its appearance.

Most people haul everything from groceries to hardware to lumber to dirt in the beds of their trucks. A Tonneau Cover can keep your cargo in place, protecting lighter items from being picked up and swept away by the wind, while keeping still other items dry if it begins to rain. And if you have a number of stops to make, you can lock the cover, thus safeguarding your valuables. If your valuables are out of sight, they are out of mind. No one knows whether there’s anything under the cover or not. So any would be thief will move on to easier pickings.

An added advantage to Tonneau Covers is improved gas mileage. Trucks are bigger than ever, they sit higher, their beds are deeper, and there’s more traffic on the roads than ever. All these factors cut down on your gas mileage. And one of the biggest drags on fuel efficiency is an open truck bed. Air flows over the front of the truck and swirls down into the bed, where it catches the tailgate, which in effect acts as an air brake. Covering the truck bed with a Tonneau Cover, even a soft model, eliminates this air drag. In other words, a Tonneau Cover increases the aerodynamic efficiency of your vehicle. And the best part is this: you don’t have to keep removing and replacing the tailgate in an effort to attain increased gas mileage. Most truck owners report a 5% to 10% increase in fuel economy.

So as you can see from just one example – Tonneau Covers -- the aftermarket accessory business for trucks looks like a good business to be in.
