Pensacola, FL – A diverse group of prominent for
profit and not for profit organizations have formed an entrepreneur
resource network, a team committed to drive entrepreneurial and
economic development in Pensacola, Florida.
The group includes Gulf Power Company, Darden & Associates, Gulf
Coast Community Bank, SnapperSmack, White Sand Investments, The Adaugeo
Group, the Florida Black Chamber of Commerce, Pensacola Bay Area
Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Development Center, TEAM Santa
Rosa, Pensacola Junior College and the University of West Florida.
The Adaugeo Group, the Pensacola-based business incubator, spearheaded
the creation of the group and is playing an integral part in leading
the organizations in its mission to develop an entrepreneur network.
“Pensacola’s greatest export is our talented professionals,” said Mark
Simms, president of The Adaugeo Group. “Because our city does not have
a lot of higher paying jobs, our college graduates and retirees often
head for larger cities like Atlanta. It’s time for local organizations
to start working together to create more job opportunities and retain
our talented people.”
The goal of the network is to provide resources and guidance to present
and future entrepreneurs and help them grow their businesses. Each
organization in the network has committed to identifying resources it
will offer to entrepreneurs. With those resources, the network will
launch mentoring and guidance programs, begin an angel investment fund
and design a web-based entrepreneur network to inform entrepreneurs
about existing resources.
“This network has the potential to offer a unique resource to support
entrepreneurs during their various stages of development,” said
Bridgette Price, assistant vice president of Entrepreneurial
Development at the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. “The use of
this model to target high-growth companies can distinguish our area in
reaching the knowledge-based community.”
