Greensboro Chamber of Commerce Announces 2006 Leadership Medal Recipients

GREENSBORO – Leadership Greensboro, a 30-year leadership initiative of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, recently honored five community leaders with its 2006 Leadership Medal Award. Leadership Medals are presented to individuals who demonstrate exemplary commitment, courage and positive contribution to the citizens and community of Greensboro. This year’s awardees are:  Shirley Taylor Frye, community volunteer; Susan Lecin Polinsky, President - TechTriad, Inc.; Antonia Monk Reaves, Vice President and Chief Program Officer - Moses Cone ~ Wesley Long Community Health Foundation; Ralph K. Shelton, President & CEO - Southeast Fuels, Inc.; and John Shore, Director - Guilford County Department of Social Services.

The Denise E. Maleska Leadership Service Award is given annually to an individual associated with the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce leadership programs who exemplifies the spirit and goals of civic involvement and trusteeship established by Leadership Greensboro. This year’s recipient is Cherry Callahan, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs - UNC-Greensboro.
 
“Leadership Greensboro’s mission is to create a “leader-full” community and the Leadership Medal awardees represent Greensboro’s best,” Dennis Stearns, Stearns Financial Services Group and Leadership Greensboro Advisory Board Chair, said. “What is really amazing are those individuals nominated and not selected this year, truly shows that Greensboro has a wealth of positive dynamic leaders.”
