Spartanburg,
SC - A new small business in educational support opens in the Upstate
South Carolina and offers both face-to-face and online coaching for
students of all ages. The new business website is www.academicsupward.org
and contains dozens of links to free interactive learning sites in
mathematics, language arts, study skills, and standardized tests.
Have you ever wondered how to increase your
own GPA or that of your child? Accountability is the key! When a
professional tutor like Dr. Greer is hired, then students have to take
ownership for their learning. Using an adult other than a parent is in
many cases more effective in increasing accountability for K-12
learners. Organizational skills, memory training, and test-taking
techniques are just a few of the tools given to clients who use
Academics Upward Tutoring.
For over 17 years, Dr. Greer, owner and manager of Academics Upward
Tutoring, has seen hundreds of clients meet their educational goals.
She has recently moved her business from central Florida. Dr. Greer
comes alongside her clients to take the fear out of learning and to
intoduce some fun. Hands-on activities and educational games are
integrated into the learning whenever possible.
Academics Upward has a new website at www.academicsupward.org
that allows you to view Dr. Greer's current schedule and to link to
dozens of free interactive learning sites for a variety of disciplines.
There are also links for free downloads for TI-83 calculator programs
and memory training audio files. Online standardized test coaching is
available for SAT and ACT through Number2.com or clients can use
traditional face-to-face appointments.
Summertime is a great time for High School juniors and seniors to
practice for SAT and ACT tests for college entrance requirements. Dr.
Greer draws on her educational backgrounds in mathematics, physical
sciences, and educational curriculum and instruction in preparing
clients for standardized tests. She has taught as an adjunct at a
number of institutions of higher learning in central Florida before
moving her business to Spartanburg, SC in 2005.
Not only do you get a well-stocked library at the offices of Acdemics
Upward Tutoring and a well-trained educational consultant and coach,
but you also get a great Christian role model as a study partner. Dr.
Greer integrates her faith into her work at every opportunity and uses
parallels from her Christian faith to encourage learners to "be
approved of God" in their work as a student.
