Small business owners and managers can meet with state lawmakers on issues that impact their companies and learn valuable business strategies at the Indiana Chamber’s annual Small Business Day at the Statehouse on Tuesday, January 30 in downtown Indianapolis. The event, which will take place at the Indiana Chamber Conference Center and at the Statehouse, is in partnership with the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).

Up first will be an educational session on health care and options for dealing with rising coverage costs, including health savings accounts. Local talk radio host Abdul Hakim Shabazz of Abdul in the Morning will then moderate a panel discussion on national immigration policy.

The Indiana Chamber and NFIB will also give legislative briefings on public policies their organizations are working on in the 2007 General Assembly to better the climate for the state’s small businesses.

At lunchtime, the scene shifts to the Statehouse rotunda for the small business awards luncheon. There, the Indiana Chamber’s 2006 Small Business of the Year and the Small Business Champions from the state Legislature will be honored. Immediately following, participants are encouraged to take advantage of visits with legislators so that the voice of Indiana’s small business community is heard.

Cost: buy one registration at $99, and get a second registration for free.

For more information or to register to attend, visit www.indianachamber.com or call (317) 264-6885 or (800) 824-6885.
