January 25th workshop in Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle, WA, will teach small business owners and marketing personnel how to manage marketing costs using online tools and emerging technologies to meet their revenue goals in 2007.
“An
ad in the local paper ate up my whole budget and I didn’t get any
response.” “I spent a bundle on a mail campaign and only three people
called.” According to an article in Entrepreneur magazine, “The Basics
of Business Success,” lack of cost control is cited as one of the top
reasons for business failure with marketing offering many opportunities
for mismanagement. “Many small businesses confuse marketing with
advertising, and that’s where they get into trouble,” advises Robbin
Block of Blockbeta Marketing who is presenting at the Seattle workshop
on January 25th. “Owners are so eager to get more business that they
jump at seemingly good opportunities to tell the world about their
products and services. Unfortunately, most of those efforts will fall
on deaf ears.”
It doesn’t have to be that way. Blockbeta Marketing is offering a
hands-on workshop to help these new marketers get a grip, “Get in Gear
for the New Year.” The workshop is designed to take owners and
marketing personnel beyond the planning phase and into the details of
execution, like creating marketing materials and selecting and
negotiating media. Effective use of online tools, for project
management and promotion, and emerging technologies, such as Podcasts,
RSS and blogs, will be emphasized throughout the 3-hour workshop.
According to Robbin, “Small business owners are overwhelmed by all the
marketing advice out there. Live workshops offer many advantages, like
prioritizing the information into a digestible format designed
specifically for small businesses. It’s an easy way to keep up with the
latest techniques and provides access to a marketing expert at a lower
cost than one-on-one.” Attendees will leave with time saving and low
cost marketing methods they can put into practice immediately.
The workshop will be held on January 25, 2007, from 3pm-6pm at the Good
Shepherd Center, Room 221, 4649 Sunnyside Avenue North in the
Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle. The cost is $69 per person for
advance registration.
