CARY, N.C. – Dancing Elephants Achievement Group will
host its “Final Friday Forum” networking event on June 23 from 11:30
a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Fox and Hound restaurant on 111 Shannon Oaks
Circle in Cary. There is no charge to attend and light hors d’oeuvres
will be served. Participants are not required to R.S.V.P.
Sharon Hill, president of Sharon Hill International, will hold a 45-minute seminar titled Business Etiquette Hints and Tips to Make Positive First Impressions.
Topics to be discussed include the following:
- The importance of cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Effective listening and tips on how to create small talk
- Perfecting your handshake
- The importance of eye contact
- Tips on how to give and accept a business card
“Our
goal at the Final Friday Forum is to provide a community in which our
students, clients, and alumni can enjoy a networking environment and
also learn new business strategies and techniques from our guest
speakers who present at each event,” said Tim Moore, Dancing Elephants
Achievement Group partner. “We are thrilled to have Sharon speak at our next Final Friday Forum about something so basic but yet very important.”
About Sharon Hill
Sharon
spent more than 20 years as a development and marketing manager at
Fortune 500 giant IBM where she was rated among the top 10 percent of
managers in the corporation. Sharon
is a Certified Etiquette Instructor, receiving her certification from
the American Business Etiquette Training Association. She is the
president of Sharon Hill International, which is her motivational and
educational speaking business. Sharon is an international Toastmaster’s award winner, winning best speaker in North Carolina,
and is currently the president of the Chapel Hill Toastmasters,
president of the Cary Climbers (which is a chapter of Business Network
International), president-elect of the International Society of
Performance Improvement, and president of Speaking of Poker, her poker
training company. Her published works include a book titled Wild Woman’s Guide to Etiquette – Saving the World One Handshake at a Time along with articles and books on both etiquette and Texas Hold ‘Em Poker.
