A lack of space to store and organize business supplies is a common complaint of many managers and employees. Time spent searching for paper, pens, toner, and other items is wasted time that could be better spent being productive and profitable. Fortunately, there are many great ways to store all your business supplies and reduce clutter, disorganization and the amount of time spent searching for what you need.

Rolling Drawers

Rolling drawers are available in multi-drawer units that can be moved as needed as well as single-drawer units that can be stacked. These drawers make it easy to access small business supplies such as sticky notes, pens and staples. To make it easier to find items, the fronts of the drawers can be labelled with the contents.

Magazine Racks

Magazine racks can organize much more than just magazines. Scientific journals and trade publications can be sorted by topic, author or year and filed into the racks. Brochures and forms can also be placed into the racks for easy access. The racks are uniform in size and are available in cardboard or plastic styles.

Vertical Display Boards

Businesses that offer different colors, styles or materials of items might consider using vertical display boards to showcase their wares. Display boards are hung from the wall or even on the sides of cubicles. The display boards are available with corkboard backings that make it easy to hang samples using push pins. Other styles include magnetic display boards that can hold papers and brochures. Many magnetic display boards have a dry-erase surface that can double as a message center or as a projection screen when clients visit the facility.

Hidden Storage

Business supplies that are only used infrequently do not need to be kept out in the open. Hidden storage solutions such as file boxes can be staked vertically under a desk or against a back wall. Rarely used utility closets can be outfitted with heavy duty shelving units to store bulk quantities of supplies like copy paper.

Off-Site Storage

Bulk office supplies and large items, seasonal items, or rarely used supplies can be stored off-site to maximize the space in your building. To make it easier to transport off-site supplies from your central location to the storage facility, use boxes or strong pallets. Pallet Solution has pallets in Toronto and you can also find pallets at lumber yards, hardware stores, home improvement stores and business supplies stores.
