The way your company's vehicles look makes a statement to your associates and customers. It's important to keep the vehicles in great shape both mechanically and aesthetically so that your vehicles make a positive statement and none of your employees have to be embarrassed by the cars they are driving.

Perform Maintenance When Seasons Change

Extremes in the weather are hard on the engine of your vehicles. The battery is most likely to die when you're using the heater or air conditioner extensively, so make sure it is in good shape before summer and winter begin. It's also smart to have the tires checked at the beginning of each season. You can find cheap tires online when the tires are ready to be replaced.

Wash and Wax Regularly

Washing and waxing not only helps your vehicles look sharp, it also extends the life of the paint job. Regular waxing helps to prevent the formation of rust on the outside of the vehicle by creating a barrier between the paint and dirt, road grime and bugs.

Have any Codes Read Promptly

Sometimes the check engine light or another sensor will light up in your vehicle's dashboard for a very minor reason. Other times the check engine light is the first sign that major trouble is ahead. Getting the code read by a shop as soon as possible is the best way to find out for sure whether there is a mechanical issue that needs to be address right away. It's easier to wait until a convenient time to have the codes read, but addressing the issue right away is likely to be the difference between a minor inconvenience and a major repair.

Follow the Suggested Maintenance Schedule

Some of the maintenance suggestions in your owners manual may seem to be unnecessary, but your vehicle is likely to perform at its best for much longer if you perform all maintenance on the schedule that is given to you by the manufacturer. Flushing the transmission may seem expensive, but it is much less expensive to flush the transmission a couple of times than to replace the entire transmission.

Don't Switch Between Conventional and Synthetic Oils

Your owners manual probably tells you the type of oil that should be put into your engine. It's best to follow their recommendations and avoid switching from one type of oil to another. It's also best to continue using synthetic fluids if they are suggested for your vehicle. It is not necessary to use the same brand, but switching between using conventional and synthetic oils and fluids is likely to damage your vehicle's engine.
