The Importance Of Unique Products To Your Network Marketing Business Success

Just recently, whilst searching for new ideas on how to promote my own primary network marketing business, I joined an organisation claiming to be able to help me develop a massive income online. Usually, I will sign up if membership is free but, every so often, I will choose to part with a few dollars to get at the ideas and tools protected by the lead capture page, and this was one of those times.

Having logged in to the "back office", I very soon realised that this was an attempt to get me to join someone elses primary mlm business, but it came packaged with a marketing system. It was the marketing system that I was really interested in, so I decided to go along for the ride which meant learning why the person had chosen to join and promote this particular network marketing opportunity. The very first feature mentioned was the unique products, and my first thought was, "How many times have I heard this before?" But then another thought struck me. "How much influence do unique products have on your success in network marketing?" Let's take a look.

In the early days, the mantra used was, "Retail and sponsor". Most network marketing business plans were based on "sharing" products within a "warm market". It was quite obvious that if your products were unique it would elevate the level of interest. But how important is it?

One of the oldest network marketing businesses in Europe - Kleeneze - sells a vast range of products through a traditional "break away" compensation plan. I don't know the exact details because I am not one of their distributors now, but probably less than 5% of their huge product range are the company's own. At the time of penning this, a significant number of distributors are earning in excess of US$200,000 per year with that company. This is from a marketplace roughly half that of the United States Of America. When I was a Kleeneze distributor, I developed a large customer base, and I can say that none of my customers looked upon the products as unique, or special in any way, but they still bought some product.

The modern trend of joining a network marketing company as a member or affiliate, which allows you to buy product direct from the company and the option to build a team at the same time, certainly lends itself promoting the uniqueness of a company's products. But I believe that this may only be important to distributors in the early stages of their affiliation with the company. Once they have built a team and are benefiting from commission payments, the uniqueness of the products becomes less important, as the level of income becomes the dominant consideration in the loyalty stakes. However, being able use the uniqueness of the product to raise the level of interest in a prospect, has to be an advantage in building a team in any network marketing business, but not essential.

Title: Kleeneze August 15, 2007

I read your comments with interest. I am a Kleeneze Distributor in the UK. The pay plan is similar to Amway - a break away plan. Kleeneze`s unique selling point is the simplicity of product movement. We have catalogues that are letterboxed to hoseholders - they browse, some order, we collect after 48 hours. Average catalogue drop would be say 200 at a time. Average orders collectd - 20 customers = 200 @ 10 a time. Very mechanical which means any one can do this. Company average monthly volume = 400 - 500 per distributor. Thats company total divided by number of distributors. Amway in UK is around 35 per month. The catalogue is a conveyer belt - products come and go subject to trands etcs. For examble liquorice is very popular at the moment and selling very well in uk. We now have it in the catalogue. Kleeneze do not manufacture anything, so are not tied to a product. We are the only business in MLM that has such a strong retail side to the business. It means a team leader with 15 - 20 distributors will earn around 1000 per month. To earn that sort of money in other networks you would need 10 times that number. Kleeneze uniqueness is that it it compeats with the high street. Customers choose to buy from us and are not sold to. We are completely customer driven not reliant on distributors buying stock = convential retail business = profits = oldest & most successful MLM company in UK.
