Writing good sales letters does not have to be difficult, but does have a certain formula. Here are some good copywriting tips for writing a sales letter:

 

1. Tell an interesting story- In the beginning of your sales letter, you must pull the reader in.  How was your life before you tried this ‘product’? What stressed you out before this ‘product’ made your life better? In effective sales letters, you want to impress the reader, but you will have to achieve this quickly.

2. Now, it is time to introduce your product. When writing a sales letter, you do not have to say anything clever except for, “Introducing….Wexy Software!”. It is important to showcase the product has the ultimate solution to the problem you stated in your story (in step one).

 

3. If possible, have a picture of your product. I understand that some products or services may not have a picture. For example, if you provide writing services, you cannot simply provide a picture for this service. In your sales letter, you can simply add a picture of yourself or a business logo.

 

4. Make the sale urgent- If you really want to know how to write a sales letter, you should know this is the most important rule. You want to make the reader think that the offer is for a limited time and it could be gone at any minute. In a good sales letter, the marketer will make the reader think that the price will be increased if they do not but it now.

 

5. Offer a lot of free bonuses. In sales letters, marketers have started to fail due to the fact of offering free bonus ebooks of no value and that are not related to the product! If you are going to offer a bonus, make sure it is something that is tangible. People love informational books, copywriting tips and ebooks. You can even make your own free bonus offers such as writing your own ebook, which is more effective because you will know more about your product. People love anything that is free.

 

6. Make sure to add a lot of testimonials. In good copywriting tips, people want to know what others have to say about the product. Try not to use old gimmicks like posting a fake picture with testimonials. People have caught on to this gimmick and are unimpressed. Besides, who would agree to their picture being seen by millions of people online?
