I just completed an article on why you need to create videos if you are serious about Internet marketing.

Simply put, video directories have a much higher PR level than article directories do.  This doesn't mean that I would cast article directories to the curb, but I certainly wouldn't ignore the video directories either.

Think about it, when is the last time you went to an article directory without a specific goal in mind just to see what was available?  Compare that to the last time you aimlessly logged onto YouTube and if you're like me you will find that you visit video directories much more frequently and compulsively than article directories.

Given that and your desire to succeed as an online Internet marketer I'd like to discuss 5 video creation tips within this article.

*** Before You Create Your Video ***

Most people that are putting out videos don't take the time to create a professional image.  That's why focusing on such things as…

* lighting
* sound
* attire
* editing
* preparation (Have a plan.  The plan might change, but it's important to at least have a plan before you proceed.)

will put you leagues ahead of your competitors.

*** Create A Fun Video ***

Do you know how boring it is to watch the same ole same ole all the time?  Mix it up, have fun with your creations.  The more you enjoy building your video the greater the chance that your audience will enjoy watching it.  Viral videos are made at such times as these.

Another valuable tip here is to use the bottom third of the created screen to advertise your business name and/or website URL.  You can be both fun and informative at the same time.

*** Follow Each Video Directories Success Path ***

Does this video directory allow for you to create a profile?  Most do.

Create it.

Whatever the particular directory allows you to do to drive traffic to your website or blog, take the time to do it.

This includes following their advice on how to generate a successful thumbnail for your video using their service.  As a default I stick with YouTube's thumbnail creation process.  However, when I have time to do so I follow the path to success for each individual video directory.

*** SEO your video ***

Some people think it's easier to SEO an article than a video.  That's just because they haven't taken the time to actually do the optimizing for their videos.  It's actually quite the opposite.

Using the "bum marketing" process, determine what specific keywords you will be focusing on.  Make sure your long tail keyword selections are found in the tags as well as the description of your video.

*** Post Your Video ***

In the process of doing your SEO it's also valuable to have the URL back to your website list your exact long tail keyword thus instead of just sending people to the root of your site, send them to

"YourWebsite.com/YourLongTailKeyword.html"

Search engines love deep links, like what is described above, more than root level links.

Visitors will feel much more at home when they come to your website via your link.

And you will be very happy with the resulting PR level that is attributed to your projects.

*** Conclusion ***

Following the above video creation tips may be time consuming.  Though actually, once you have the process ironed out it really doesn't take all that long to complete.  Plus, having done so will bring you far more success than simply creating a random video and popping that online.
