Ever wondered how you could check your company's reputation? I mean, you can throw thousands of dollars into marketing your goods and/or services but if your company's reputation is faltering, well, all that money may just be wasted. You need to know what's broken before you can fix it.

But, with today's Internet, we're extremely fortunate. We can monitor our company's reputation online using some free tools. Check them out!

1) Twist - a trend watcher for Twitter. type in your company name and you'll see some recent tweets that mention your company.

2) Tweetscan - another tool that will help you see what others are saying about your company in Twitter Land!

3) Joongel - an interesting looking tool - basically, you type in your company and you can see select what categories you may be found in. Categories like "local", "gossip", "news", "etc.
4) Trendpedia - searches through blogs for mention of your company name. You can also try any of these searches with your product or if you provide a specific service.

5) Technorati - another blog searcher for mentions of your company name and more.

6) Google Alerts - one of my all time favorites. Everytime something online gets posted with your company name, you get notification via email.

7) Serph - a search directory that looks for any mention of your name (or whatever you type in). It searches through online social media and organizes it according to date with the most recent being at the beginning.

8) Vanno - a new directory specifically created for company reputation indexing. Very interesting new tool.

Can't find your company through any of these free tools? Then guess what? You have some work to do! Why aren't your customers talking about you? If they're happy with your work, then ask them to mention you in their online chats. Also, these tools are a great way for any potential customer to "check you out" before they use your services or products.
