Win The Trust From Your Subscribers By Four MeansEdmund Toh
January 22, 2009
Nowadays, more and more laws and regulations are set up to protect
email users from receiving spam mails. As a result, some online
businesses cannot send their promotional materials freely to email
users. However, some Internet users might be willing to receive these
kinds of information. They might visit some websites and sign up for
receiving the information. They are called the subscribers of the
websites. They sign up usually because they want to get the most update
information about the types of products you are selling on the site,
such as cars, machines, etc.
For many businesses, having these
groups of people called subscribers is a very joyful thing. It is
because they do not mind receiving the numerous emails from you. Of
course, you need to let them trust you. Otherwise, they would not be
willing to receive your newsletters.
An opt-in mailing list is
a list containing the information of your subscribers. This list is
very useful for you to send the promotional information to them
including catalogs and newsletters. Your potential customers would have
the chance to read your messages if they trust you and treat your
messages as normal mail rather than spam mail. Therefore, the first
thing you need to do in order to successfully send the message out is
that you need to win their trust.
As the world is changing
second by second, you must try your very best to win the trust from
visitors of your sites as quick as possible so as to build the list.
Are you interested in knowing more about the ways to achieve this aim?
Do you want to use simple techniques to win the trust from your
potential customers? Now, there are several tips.
First, you
need to show that you are a professional. No one wants to listen to
someone saying something unprofessional. If you are studying Arts, how
can people trust you totally when you are saying something about
quantum mechanics? Therefore, when you are building your site, you
should try your best to search for the information about the products
you are selling. You should try to use them once before promoting them
so that you can have first person experience. Once visitors think that
your site can provide professional information on a certain field, they
would be willing to keep in touch with you through subscribing your
site.
Second, you should provide some unique information to your
customers. Vague information can actually be found all around the
Internet. Therefore, if you want to keep them in your list, you should
offer them some exclusive things. For example, after trying the
products yourself, you can give some useful tips or exclusive hints of
using the product which you find it by yourself. If visitors find out
that you are considerate and unique seller, they would trust you more
easily.
Thirdly, you should never tell lies. Visitors are not
stupid. As what I have mentioned above, you are not the only site
promoting the products and information about the products can actually
be found everywhere in the cyber world. Therefore, if you are trying to
hide the truth side of the products, they must know. Therefore, if you
are not telling the truth and are discovered by the visitors, how can
they have confidence to read the information on your site? So, never
try to hide the truth of the products. If there are bad points of the
products and you voice out, there is no harm, but benefits, because
this can let your visitors know that you are responsible. This can win
their trust fast.
Last but not least, you should always remember
to include an unsubscribe feature for your subscribers. If visitors
know that they can quit if they find that the sites do not suit them,
it would be very good. Otherwise, they might not subscribe your site
because they might worry that they could not stop the numerous mails
sent from you and their mailbox would be ruined. Therefore, you should
promise them that they can quit when they are signing up for your site.
This can give them confidence that your site is not providing a trap
but a useful source of information.
To conclude, you should
always try to win the trust of your customers instead of losing them.
You should keep your list securely and should never reveal them to
anybody under any conditions. Otherwise, if subscribers find that their
information is being used in other means, they would feel being
betrayed and would never read your site anymore.
