Importance Of Testimonials For Customers And For Providers Sunita Biddu
April 09, 2009
One of the most persuasive tools you have when you are writing copy is
the testimonial. A testimonial is when a person who has used your
product or service gives you feedback that you can share with others.
This is good for potential customers, and good for providers too.
Testimonials
are an important and persuasive selling tool. When potential clients or
customers can read that other people like them—people with similar
needs and interests—have used your products or services and have been
pleased with the results, then they think they will be pleased with the
results too. It is kind of like somebody else has already been the
guinea pig and taken the risk to try your product or service. They will
feel more comfortable buying from you because they can be one of many
customers instead of having to take on all the risk on their own. This
makes the customer feel more comfortable and trusting, and makes them
more willing to spend their money with you. It is an especially big
help if the person who makes the testimonial was skeptical or hesitant
at first, and your product or service overcame their reasons for the
hesitancy.
This is also good for providers. Not only is anything
that helps make potential customers actual customers a good thing for
providers, but hearing this kind of feedback is very important. It not
only gives you the opportunity to be more responsive to what customers
have to say, but allows you to show customers at the same time that you
are responsive. After all, happy customers are repeat customers and
tell their friends about you as well.
Using testimonials can
help you build and develop your product or service image. You know what
value you are hoping to bring to your clients or customers, but when
you get testimonials, you find out what value you are actually
delivering. This can allow you to build more on your perceived
strengths and figure out if you have areas that you need to spend more
time developing.
