The good news is that there are many genuine opportunities for making money on the Internet. The bad news is that there are many genuine opportunities for making money on the Internet. Yes, you did read that correctly! The reason I’m putting it like this is because two of the major reasons why people fail to make money online is lack of focus and lack of action. Be aware that the scope of choice out there can seriously delay you from taking the action needed to bring you the success you desire!

4 steps for making money on the Internet:

1. Discover - Before you start you should be clear about what results you want. Ask yourself some questions. Are you looking for part-time income to supplement your job or something that you could work on in your spare time, with a view to turning it into a business of your own in the future? How would working from home suit you?  No really! It may sound but do you have the discipline it takes? What time can you spend on your business – just a few hours a day, fulltime, 3 days per week? Be realistic. How do you want it to improve your current lifestyle?

The opportunities for making money on the Internet are vast and varied. Just on eBay alone you have many models you could follow, never mind all the other methods! You can be sure that whatever your personal circumstances, temperament, age or gender, there will be something just right for you. Considering your personal goals first - being clear about what YOU want to achieve - will greatly help you in your search for the perfect Internet business.

2. Copy - Once you have your criteria you can begin to look for someone who is already succeeding at what it is you want to do - and become their ‘student’. There are many potential mentors to choose from but don’t just jump in! Pick a handful of possibilities and check out what they’re doing first. Find out what others are saying about them. Weigh their business opportunities with what it is you want to do. Do they give you the chance to copy them, step-by-step? If so, there is no reason why you shouldn’t become as successful at making money on the Internet as they are!

3. Invest - If you are serious about your future and not just looking for a ‘magic pill’ that will make you rich overnight, it will cost you something. Don’t be so naive to think that a highly successful business person is going to pass on valuable knowledge to you for nothing. Treat it as an investment in your future. After all, you wouldn’t expect to do well in any business or workplace without learning the processes required to do the job properly.  If someone tells you that you can become rich overnight without any knowledge or effort, they would be lying to you!

4. Focus - once you have found the type of Internet business that suits you, a mentor who's already succeeding at it and you've made your investment, it is crucial that you discipline yourself to stay focused. Don’t allow yourself to get side-tracked onto the next best thing that you’ll be offered, even if you think it might be better than what you’re doing. You want to see the very best return on the investment you’ve already made. Staying focused is the fastest and most rewarding route to success.
