For many people, any type of Internet business is just not a “real” business because they feel you have to go to an office and collect an actual paycheck at the end of the week. Thus, to those people, the concept of a real home-based Internet business does not exist. Sadly for them, they could be making money sitting home in their pajamas instead of fighting traffic on the way to a 9-5 rat race job. More people are looking into the prospect of a home-based business, and many of those are former professionals who have grown tired of having to work long hours for so little money. When you add that to the expense of driving back and forth to work daily, it’s little wonder that so many opportunities for a home business on the Internet have come into being.

Many working mothers have chosen to investigate the potential for working at home either on a telecommuting basis or in a home based Internet business. The cost of commuting added to the cost of daycare, make working outside the home less than profitable for the modern mother. Unless one is a professional, it doesn’t make sense to pay $200 weekly for childcare expense and over $2.50 a gallon for gasoline to get to work. By the time the work expenses are disbursed, a working mother is lucky if she has any money left to contribute to the family budget.

Mothers are not the only ones turning to a home based Internet business. As more and more companies downsize, many displaced workers are opting for a business at home rather than going back into the working market where they fear again being forced into the unemployment line. Many choose to take the time while they are able to collect unemployment to build an Internet business to be up and running by the time severance pay and unemployment are exhausted. To those people, an Internet business is a real business with real income that pays their bills and takes care of their families.
