The first thing that comes to mind when making money on eBay is selling PRODUCTS.

There are millions of different products selling fast on eBay every day.  New, used, rare, one-of-a-kind, hand crafted, antique, closeout, liquidation, you name it and you'll find it on eBay!

The question is - what will YOU sell and what will make MONEY?

Deciding what to sell is the #1 thing that most beginning eBay sellers will get stuck on.

Once you decide WHAT you want to sell, it is then just a matter of finding a SOURCE for that product.

But until you have some idea of what you want to sell, you will want to hold off on looking for product sources.

Here are some great ways to get product ideas:

- Your Sunday newspaper, especially the Sunday ads

- Trade & hobby magazines

- If you love antiques and collectibles, visit your local stores to see if there is a certain product, or category that catches your eye

- eBay. Spend some time browsing through eBay, just to see what is there. Browse through several categories!

- Your local classified ads - what things are being sold in the paper?  Many times there are products that are regularly bought and sold in your region, that aren't available in other parts of the country.

- The eBay hot list.  This list can give you an idea of what products are good sellers. However, the goal here is not to pick the number one seller and try to compete in that market.

So, take a look around you everywhere you go and see what people are buying.

Here are a couple things to keep in mind when looking at products to sell:

- You don't have to personally like the product. You may not be interested in golf, but you may find a brand of golf shoes that sells very well on eBay.

- For long-term product sourcing skills, you HAVE to be able to find products yourself. There are many well-known product sources floating around the web, the same thing with the hot lists and lists of wholesalers.

- The easier the product source is to find, the more competition you will have.

If you have ever searched the web for eBay products to sell, you have probably come across the wholesale websites with products that are 'Perfect for First Time eBayers'.

The problem with those sites is not that the products are bad; it's that every other potential eBay seller is looking there too for products.

When you develop the skills to identify a product and source a product, you'll find more products than you have time to sell!
